Photoshoot!
I realized that I don’t really have any recent professional pictures of myself. Which I suppose is a pretty normal thing, unless you are a professional model or photo-bomber. In any case, I wanted to get some good shots not only so my friends and clients could actually see what I look like, but also get a sense of my style and personality. So, in the good tradition of paying someone for their creative work, I hired my friend Kay Stasinos to work her photo magic on me. Boy, did she deliver! She caught exactly what I was hoping for in a photo shoot. Here’s a secret- I really, really like getting my picture taken. I don’t know why, but I think after all the time I spend creating artwork, I think it is fun to be the subject of someone else’s artwork for once.
I was especially happy to patronize Kay as a professional, because we all know there are so many posers out there with a crappy camera and photoshop elements who cheapen the art and drive prices down. Kay has studied photography for years, went to school for it, and is totally legit. This applies to graphic designers as well. It’s well worth your money to hire a professional, my friends. Don’t waste your money on mediocre, uninspired artwork. Get your money’s worth from a true artist, who is passionate and hardworking enough to educate and improve themselves.
Anyway, here are the photos. Which one do YOU think I should use as a profile picture?
Of course I found the whole process to be very inspiring and fun, which led me to create this drawing:
