Merry Christmas 2012!
Boy, do I have a lot to catch up on, the creative juices have been flowing freely. But for now, I wanted to make sure to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
As I became more serious about my graphic design efforts, the pressure to create a good Christmas Card became much stronger. Not because I felt like I had to, but because I knew of the potential, and I certainly didn’t want to let the opportunity go to waste. It is also a fun way to gauge how much my styles and preferences change each year (which can also be bad, as I have made some doozies in the past that I thought were awesome at the time…) and see how my art develops.
I think this year is my favorite yet! Drawing my husband seems so natural, because he looks like one of my drawings in real life. And of course I would never pass up an opportunity to draw little Penny Louise. The style seemed very fitting for us this year, and I have really been into color schemes. Like I mentioned, my style has really been evolving. But I like where it’s going.
Though, the best part about illustrating my own Christmas card is that we don’t have to take family pictures! We all know what a pain THAT can be, right??
Merry Christmas, everyone! And don’t forget! If you want an awesome, illustrated card like this next year, be sure to contact me before October, before I get booked up for the season. Pricing for custom illustrations start at $150, and infographics at $100.
